    This section was prepared as part of an international project Kalitka – development of cross-border gastronomic tourism (cross-border cooperation program «Karelia» of the European Neighborhood Instrument).

    The culinary traditions of Karelia, carefully preserved by culinary masters, are accurately reproduced in modern recipes for cooking. Healthy natural base of products, national cultural environment, geniality and hospitality of local residents created a special atmosphere in which the culinary traditions of Karelia were formed, embodied in magnificent unique gastronomic masterpieces, such as, for example, Karelian pies — «kalitki».
